Complimentary school evaluation

Seven days to explore together.

This ready-to-use evaluation is available here. Begin at your chosen pace; an adult can read or print the lesson directly. The sample asks for zero child names, accounts or written submissions.

Sample lesson: A small act of service

Length: 15 minutes · Primary ages: 6–10 · Materials: paper, crayons and shared classroom supplies.

Learning goals: name one way to help; distinguish an observation from a possible interpretation; ask an adult before acting; describe the result kindly.

  1. Welcome, 2 minutes. Ask children to notice one job that helps the classroom run smoothly. Children may think quietly, draw, or speak.
  2. Scripture, 3 minutes. Read Mark 10:45 from your school-approved Bible. Discuss Jesus serving others. Ask how a small classroom action can show care.
  3. Choose, 3 minutes. Offer two choices: organize shared crayons with permission or make a thank-you card for a classroom helper. Children may observe alongside an adult.
  4. Practice, 4 minutes. Model asking permission. Complete the chosen task together, respecting each person's comfort and space.
  5. Reflect, 3 minutes. Ask: what did you notice, what did you choose, and how did it help? Name the action and effort. Invite a child to suggest one next step.

Observe learning: listen for a concrete helpful action, an adult permission step and a thoughtful reflection. Use verbal discussion or a drawing. Treat gifts as evolving possibilities explored over time.

Adaptations: PreK–K: adult narration, picture choices and a five minute activity. Grades 1–2: paired discussion and drawing. Grades 3–5: compare two service choices and explain the reason for one. Offer quiet participation, enlarged print, breaks and adult reading as needed.

DAY 1

Notice

Read Mark 10:45 together. Ask: who quietly helps our classroom? Draw one helpful action.

DAY 2

Listen

Read James 1:19. Practice taking turns and retelling one thing a partner said.

DAY 3

Discern

Read 1 Thessalonians 5:21. Compare two possible helpful responses with an adult: which is kind, safe, and welcome?

DAY 4

Ask

Read Proverbs 15:22. Ask a teacher for permission before choosing a small service activity.

DAY 5

Serve

Read Galatians 5:13. Complete one approved classroom act: tidy shared supplies, make an encouragement card, or welcome a classmate.

DAY 6

Reflect

Read Galatians 5:22–23. Name a moment of patience, gentleness, or kindness and discuss what happened.

DAY 7

Connect

Read 1 Peter 4:10. Share a class reflection with an adult and choose one small next step together.

Caregiver connection

Today we practiced noticing a need, asking permission and taking one small helpful step. At home, invite your child to choose a familiar, adult-approved task. Read 1 Peter 4:10 together in your chosen Bible. Ask what they enjoyed and how someone else experienced the help. Keep the action gentle, safe and manageable.

Teacher feedback

After the evaluation, record the grade group, approximate number participating, engagement, ease of use, age fit, Scripture alignment, accessibility needs and willingness to purchase. Use anonymous class observations. Share feedback by email from an adult account.

Privacy and child participation

The sample lesson requires no child account or entered personal data. Existing Small Keys reflection and progress tools use browser storage on the current device, including saved FieldLab sessions and optional saved learning observations. Adults control device access and should clear personal entries on shared devices. Learning codes and backups are shared only when an adult chooses to copy or export them. Standard hosting requests may involve technical logs. Email inquiries send the adult's supplied information through their email provider to the publisher. Use anonymous classroom observations and omit child names, contact details, health details and precise locations.

Safeguarding and spiritual formation

Educators retain responsibility for supervision, interpretation, permissions and school policies. Discuss Scripture with context and the school's theological framework. Children can choose quiet participation or pause an activity. Adults handle health, safety and family decisions. Explore gifts through repeated experiences, trusted relationships and loving fruit over time.

Accessibility and implementation

This guide supports keyboard controls, labeled inputs, scalable text, mobile layouts and print. The sample can be read aloud by an adult and completed with speaking, drawing or observation. Existing media capabilities vary by lesson; educators should review individual audio, captions, transcripts and device compatibility before classroom use. Send specific accommodation needs with the adult inquiry.

Purchasing and evaluation terms

The seven day evaluation is complimentary and self-paced, with no card collection on this page. Paid school and family offers require a written scope and confirmed fulfillment from the publisher. The inquiry opens your email application; you review and send it yourself. An email inquiry requests information. Payment, purchase orders, renewal and cancellation terms are confirmed in the written order before a paid license begins. Existing platform terms remain available on the main journey.
